Asifa Bano, an 8-year-old girl from Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, became a symbol of the battle against gender-based violence and religious intolerance. In 2018, she was kidnapped, subjected to traumatic assault, and brutally murdered in a devastating crime that sent shockwaves through the nation and beyond. According to investigation further revealed that Asifa was raped for days, tortured and then finally murdered. In her and other victims’ remembrance, we tried narrating the pain through our music. We are still seeing such brutality happening around us, can’t save the victims, can’t be super hero as well. We don’t even know how many Asifas have been victimised and now are Resting in Peace.
